Vanqishing Ice Floe?
Massive mobs of Mursaat Mesmers spamming E-Surge makes my teams fail. Any suggestions?
As an update, I finished this last night with the same setup as I had used before: BHA + Tri-Necro. The difference was in how I pulled, by pulling mobs towards myself and tanking them before sending in the rest of my team, rather than just pulling the enemies to the team.

Three healers or decent party heals. More DPS from your team. Interrupts on the casters. Giving more information about the team and specs you were running would help alot. I did this over the weekend with pretty much a random group of classes from alliance without too much trouble.

I was running BHA with Sabway, along with Lina, Mhenlo, Cynn, and Devona.
First time I did it, I was overrun with Imps and Maelstrom.
Second time, I got spanked pretty hard by a few Mesmers, but decided to try again after I res'd. I went back, pulled them apart a bit better, and got through that mob. The next one didn't pull so well, and e-denial rocked my healers again.

I couldn't tell you the full team set up as it was ages ago but I was unable to do it with henchmen. I did it with another Guildie and we each brought Paragons and Warriors with supporting shouts. As long as you can keep the shouts active most of the time then healing will constantly occur as long as you aren't overrun. Maelstrom can't do anything to shouts and I've found too hard to avoid tbh with Mind Freeze. I ran a regular BHA Ranger while my Guildie ran a KD Warrior. Died a couple of times but didn't need any consumables. Good luck.

I remember being able to vanquish Ice Floe with a team of henchies and heros. I used several healers (Dunkoro was one that I setup as a mo/me), three high damage fire eles (I was one of those) and two tankers, Koss being one of those. I think the 3rd hero was a ranger.
I'd flag in Koss, let him draw the enemies, then nuke. We killed everything pretty quick, even those annoying ice imps (hate those).
I was able to vanquish Mineral Springs and all the surrounding areas including Sorrows Furnace and Grenth's Footprint pretty much using that same team. Creatures in that area don't do well with fire.
Good luck.

Not Dwarves....at least I think not. But for both GF and SF a team with 2 devs(tanks will do as well...but I personally like dev better) 3 fire eles(aoe damage as well as fire damage against ice elementals) and 2 healers and 1 mesmer for interrupts can do well, assuming everyone is used to HM vanqishing. (You can also take out the mes and bring either: 4 eles or 3 monks for greater heal)

Good ideas out there with Tank&Spank and the paragons. I'll probably try using paragons first, since I've been slowly working on getting Racthoh's team build put together, and I may as well put it into use once before I have nothing left to do in PvE.
If that doesn't work, Tank&Spank sounds like a slow, but sure, solution.

What helped a lot for me was killing the jade armors first. Their damage output is just stupid. Once those are down h/h should be able to keep up the healing.
I also overdo it on passive defence normally, bringing at least 2 copies of [aegis], a [ward against melee] and also a [defensive anthem] paragon with [shields up].
Hope this helps.

it's not too different from the mirror of lyss except you have to fight most of the mesmer mobs alongside sf/derv elementals. Lots of options! You can take paininverter for some quick spike kills, bha ranger for ownage, cry of frustration (i usually run this on a paragon) you could use TPIY with aria of zeal to counter the e drains

I did it yesterday with some friends, we took 2 human ele one with SF, other with SH, both had MS. I was playing a prot hybrid woh monk with technobabble, We had an arcane langour mes hero and a bomber mm hero
we also had an SS human.
(just load up on technobabble and stuff like assassin support and you'll do fine, make sure to bring dp removers just incase)
The ice imps were a breeze, was the mursaat we had a problem with mostly.

True that about the Dwarves, very true. But if you're careful about not drawing too big of a mob, you'll do just fine. I actually find the ice imps more irritating, they won't group so you have one here and there and out there and another over there.
I remember we were taking the Mursaat down pretty quick.

Take a monk hero, and aquip spell breaker, then cast it on your self and act as the tank, they spam there energy away n then u can hit em with the heros and hench. Works on the Djinn in NF so i cant c it being a problem, GL mate.

Yeah I agree [Mind Freeze]+[Maelstrom] is a bitch even for warriors since you still take like 80ish damage for 1 [Maelstrom].

If you're not caravan vanquishing, what might help is borrowing a friend's heroes. Just have a friend w/ heroes set them up with whatever builds you want, zone outside with you and then leave. 3 heroes > 4 henches in my experience.

Use ursan to kill Mursaat monk fast on a new group.
Ice Imps are not a big problem. Aggro, tank and keep your H/H behind the frontline. Initially, the ice Imps will shower you with multiple Mind Freezes and Mealstorms. Your hero monks especially prot monk should keep you alive regardless of multiple Mealstorms. Even my Mesmer can ride through the initial spike. The spike damage from Ice Imps will quickly tappered off. Stand your ground. Any attempt to move backward or forward can lead to a group wipeout as your H/H will be targeted with Mind Freeze and Mealstorm. Keep killing the Ice Imps and slowly advancing forward. That's all you can do anyway with Mind Freeze hex.
The only problem I encountered was with an unplanned aggroing of 3 Mursaat groups that stayed together and ended up with 3 unbeatable Mursaat Monks team setup up in HM. Unfortunately the mearged group would not split up after waiting for a long time. I got luckly to have the opportunity to kill one of the monk fast with Ursan after he wondered off to the fringe . The rest was manageble after the whole team was rebirth at the nearest shrine.
